O
& M of Effluent Treatment Plants

Interest on investment, Depreciation, Electrical
power, Consumables, Chemicals, nutrients, Repair, Replacement spares Poor
treated effluent, Qualified manpower Can improve / save on each and every
expense head AND pay back its cost. |

Industry spends a lot in
installing the plant. But these plants are often neglected as they do not
add to profit bottom line. In fact these are run merely as an unwanted task
for the fear of environmental laws.
Such expensive plants are left to hands of
untrained people. |
Hence one won’t get the desired results or quality of treated
effluent. Also the expensive treatment plant machinery gets permanently
damaged and is then no good for any more use for delivering the results.
If you compare the various expense heads on Operation & Maintenance of the
effluent treatment plant, little excess that one has to spend on having
better qualified manpower is fully justified by the savings in increased
plant life, saving on power, consumable chemicals and consistent quality of
treated effluent. The overall expenses won’t increase even by 2% by hiring
the qualified manpower.
O & M doesn’t mean just keeping the machinery in running condition. It
has to produce the results at the minimum cost input. Continuous visible
operation of equipments is just one part of it. If the critical
equipments fail for more than 4 hours stopping Oxygen supply to bio-mass,
whole of the acclimatized bio-mass culture is lost. The development of fresh
bio-mass shall take months together. Till that time under-treated effluent
shall be discharged continuously violating the statutory norms.
The mechanical equipments need break-down as well as preventive
maintenance. Sudden break down disrupts the treated effluent quality.
Ideally the production plant too has to be closed down unless treatment
system is restored. One can’t be allowed to flout the environmental norms
and run the production activity, as per law.
As such, this can cause heavy loss on production or have to run the risk of
facing legal consequences including huge fine.
As a good corporate citizen, everyone wants to take care of environment.
This also gives the satisfaction helping the conservation of environment.
There is no fear of facing the unpleasant legal action and punishment.
Wherever the treatment plants are being run to produce the recycled water
for reuse, optimum O & M and maximum up-time of the plant are even more
important.
We are there to do this on your behalf, economically.
We undertake such work on private contract basis with full
responsibility and commitment. |
